Data Hub now features up-to-date information of key business and equity indicators
The Upjohn Regional Data Hub – an interactive display of economic development data for counties across Michigan – has expanded to include information on equity and business indicators.
The hub now features four sections of information:
- Business Indicators
- Equity Indicators
- Workforce indicators
- State of the region
These metrics are vital for small businesses, nonprofits, larger companies considering relocation or expansion, local and state policymakers, public involvement advocates, and civic organizations.
The newly added business indicators tab provides insights on metrics such as real personal consumption expenditures, disposable personal income, business applications, and per capita income. The equity indicators tab, among others, includes data on labor force participation, workers with disabilities, vehicles per household, and health insurance coverage by race and ethnicity, gender, and income groups.
Users can access county-level data by selecting any Michigan county from drop-down lists, with Southwest Michigan counties highlighted first.
The Data Hub sources the latest available data from government and private databases and will offer more current information than many other online resources. The information is free to use and can be downloaded in spreadsheet format. Additionally, the Upjohn Regional team offers tailored analyses for clients seeking deeper insights.
The Upjohn Regional Data Hub is the first resource of its kind focused on Southwest Michigan and remains the only tool to offer county-by-county comparisons across its data categories.
“The experts on the Upjohn Regional team gather and analyze a wide range of data on local economic conditions,” said Iryna Lendel, senior director of Upjohn Regional. “We are now sharing key components of this data in an attractive, graphic format to help people make informed decisions that benefit their businesses and communities.”
