Peter Hinrichs is an economist who studies education policy. Particular areas of focus include racial issues in higher education, financial issues in higher education, and the interaction between education and health at the K-12 level.
Hinrichs joined the Upjohn Institute in 2024 after having been a senior research economist at the Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland and, earlier, an assistant professor of public policy at Georgetown University. He holds a BA in economics and mathematics from the University of California, Berkeley and a PhD in economics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
