In an Opinion column posted on May 31, Washington Post columnist Robert Samuelson cites Institute senior economist Susan Houseman who discusses why, as a result of uncertainty created during the Great Recession, businesses have become more likely to rely on temporary workers. This phenomenon is among the findings in a recent working paper by Houseman and Carolyn Heinrich (University of Texas) titled "Temporary Help Employment in Recession and Recovery."
