A paper written by Institute economist Marta Lachowska will appear in a forthcoming issue of Oxford Economic Papers. The paper, which is to appear in either the October 2016 or January 2017 issue, is based on Lachowska's Upjohn Institute working paper titled "Expenditure, Confidence, and Uncertainty: Identifying Shocks to Consumer Confidence Using Daily Data." In it, Lachowska addresses theĀ importance of consumer confidence in stimulating economic activity.
