The W.E. Upjohn Institute for Employment Research today announced it received a $360,000 grant from Strada Education Network to study the workforce outcomes of place-based college scholarship, or “College Promise,” programs. The Institute brings an additional $70,000 to the project, totaling $430,000 over the two-year research period. Collaborating with four promise communities, the Institute will address the critical question of how College Promise scholarships affect recipients' employment, earnings and debt, along with decisions about where to locate after graduation.
